This directory contains the OGLE-III catalog of proper motions for stars
observed towards the Magellanic Clouds.

The directory structure is as follows:

README - this file

catalog/ - subdirectory with compressed catalog files for
                    each subfield separately (1256)

whole_catalog.gz - compressed file containing catalog data for all
                    the subfields

variables.dat - proper motions of variable stars

CPM.dat - list of common proper motion binaries

remarks.txt - remarks on selected objects

Format of the files in catalog/ subdirectory and whole_catalog.gz file:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Bytes Format Units Description

 63- 67 F5.2 mas/yr Statistical uncertainty of proper motion in R.A.
 69- 72 F4.2 mas/yr Systematic uncertainty of proper motion in R.A.
 74- 80 F7.2 mas/yr Proper motion in Dec.
82- 86 F5.2 mas/yr Statistical uncertainty of proper motion in Dec.

107-111 F5.2 mas Uncertainty of parallax
113-119 F7.2 mas Differential refraction coefficient
121-125 F5.2 mas Uncertainty of differential refraction coefficient

139-142 I4 --- Number of points used in the fit
    144 I1 --- Visual inspection flag: 1 - inspected, 0 - not
                       inspected
    146 I1 --- Images used in the fit flag: 0 - all images, 1 - only
                       best seeing images were used

Parallax and its uncertainty equal to "0.00" indicate that it was not
possible to measure it. Similarly V-I color of "9.999" indicates V-band
brightness is unknown. Data for stars with proper motions higher than
100 mas/yr were copied from Poleski et al. (2011), Acta Astron. 61, 199
(see ../hpm_mcs/ directory).

4 - verification not possible because of proximity of

Any presentation of the scientific analysis or usage of the data from
the Catalog of Stellar Proper Motions Toward Magellanic Clouds should
include the appropriate reference(s) to OGLE paper(s).

Update:

16-04-2012 Corrected typos in total proper motion for stars with
           proper motion in R.A. = 0.00 mas/yr.
