Poleski ======================================================================= soszynsk@astrouw.edu.pl This directory contains the fourth part of the OGLE-III Catalog of Variable Stars - long-period variables in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The directory structure is as follows: README - this file ident.dat - identification of stars Miras.dat - parameters of Mira stars SRVs.dat - parameters of Semiregular Variables (SRVs) OSARGs.dat - parameters of OGLE Small Amplitude Red Giants (OSARGs) phot/I/ - I-band photometry of individual objects phot/V/ - V-band photometry of individual objects phot.tar.gz - gzipped phot/ directory fcharts/ - finding charts of individual objects remarks.txt - remarks on selected objects LSP means Long Secondary Period (sequence D) ECL/ELL means eclipsing or ellispoidal variations (sequence E) RCB means R Coronae Borealis star DoPhot - the DoPhot photometry only pap.ps.gz - postscript version of the paper Soszynski et al. (2009), Acta Astron. 59, 239, describing the catalog. Format of the file ident.dat: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Description -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 18 A18 --- Star's ID in the form OGLE-LMC-LPV-NNNNN 21- 28 A8 --- OGLE-III field 30- 35 I6 --- OGLE-III database number 38- 42 A5 --- Subtype of LPVs (Mira, SRV, OSARG) 44- 46 A3 --- Evolutionary status (RGB, AGB) 48- 48 A1 --- Spectral type (O means O-rich, C means C-rich) 51- 52 I2 h Right ascension, equinox J2000.0 (hours) 54- 55 I2 m Right ascension, equinox J2000.0 (minutes) 57- 61 F5.2 s Right ascension, equinox J2000.0 (seconds) 63 A1 --- Declination, equinox J2000.0 (sign) 64- 65 I2 deg Declination, equinox J2000.0 (degrees) 67- 68 I2 arcmin Declination, equinox J2000.0 (arc minutes) 70- 73 F4.1 arcsec Declination, equinox J2000.0 (arc seconds) 75- 89 A15 --- OGLE-II ID 91-104 A14 --- MACHO ID 106-110 A5 --- GCVS ID 112- A --- Other designation -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Format of the files Miras.dat, SRVs.dat and OSARGs.dat: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bytes Format Units Description -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1- 18 A18 --- Star's ID in the form OGLE-LMC-LPV-NNNNN 21- 26 F6.3 mag Intensity mean I-band magnitude 28- 33 F6.3 mag Intensity mean V-band magnitude 35- 43 F days Primary period 45- 49 F5.3 mag I-band amplitude of the primary period 51- 59 F days Secondary period (detected automatically) 61- 65 F5.3 mag I-band amplitude of the secondary period 67- 75 F days Tertiary period (detected automatically) 77- 81 F5.3 mag I-band amplitude of the tertiary period -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finding charts are gzipped Postscript images. The names of the files are in the form: ID.ps.gz. The finding charts are 60"x60" subframes of the I-band reference frames centered on the stars. White cross marks the star. North is up and East to the left. Any presentation of the scientific analysis or usage of the data from the Catalog of Cepheids from the LMC should include the appropriate reference(s) to OGLE paper(s). Updates: 2009-12-13 600 candidates for DY Per stars added to remarks.txt 2011-08-24 Corrected I-band magnitudes (see Szymanski et al. 2011, Acta Astron. 61, 83)
